Events outside the selected operation remain in the low-level timeline. Downloading before any edit returns the exact source bytes.
Drop the export into a DAW
- Download the edited file. The name starts with editmidi- so it is easy to spot in a DAW project.
- In FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic, create or open a MIDI track and import that .mid onto the clip or arrangement.
- Audition the destination instrument. MIDI is instructions, so the sound comes from the synth you attach in the DAW.
Snap every note to a musical grid
Choose a quarter-note, eighth-note, sixteenth-note, or thirty-second-note grid calculated from the file PPQ value. Applying quantize rounds the start and end of every paired note across the document to the nearest grid line.
This focused tool applies one grid to the whole file. It does not offer selection-only quantize, swing, or a strength control, so keep an original copy when the performance needs a more selective timing treatment.
Keep each quantized note playable
Rounding can place a short note start and end on the same tick. EditMIDI prevents that invalid result by keeping the end at least one tick after the start. Notes near the document limit are kept inside the supported tick range.
Compare the feel before download
Quantize changes note timing, not velocity, program choices, controllers, pitch bend, tempo events, or track order. Preview the result, use one Undo to return to the earlier timing if the performance feels too rigid, and download only when the grid suits the material.
