Data-driven artwork
MIDI cover art generator
Generate a 1500 by 1500 PNG cover from the MIDI already open in the browser. Add a title, a background photo if you have one, and the note pattern itself.

Open a MIDI file
Stay on-device. Start empty if you have no file, or try a public demo.
Off-grid notes, wild velocities, leftover gaps — the dirty AI-song export producers actually get.
A clean four-bar piano phrase you can transpose, quantize, or reshape immediately.
Drums, bass, and chords on separate tracks for mute, solo, and merge practice.
The same hook after quantize and velocity cleanup — the after shot for the messy export.
Your file stays on this device unless you explicitly use Creator Cloud. After an edit, one local recovery copy is saved in this browser until you replace or clear it.
Creator Cloud
Keep the versions and extend the phrase.
Creator Cloud adds cloud history and reviewed AI MIDI edits a month. The tool you are using stays free.
- 60 reviewed AI MIDI edits each month
- 50 cloud projects with 100 versions each
- Cancel anytime; the free editor stays free
The MIDI is the design source
The cover uses the actual note positions in the file. Pitch becomes vertical placement, timing becomes horizontal placement, and velocity changes the opacity. The result is a visual fingerprint of the song rather than a generic gradient with a title on top.
The tool also reads the detected key, duration, and bar count, then prints that metadata in the frame. If the file has no pitched notes, the key line is omitted instead of inventing one.
Customize without leaving the browser
Type a title and subtitle, choose whether to add a background image, and preview the square composition. The background is cropped to fill the frame and covered with a dark overlay so the note pattern and text remain readable.
The download is a 1500 by 1500 PNG, which is larger than the usual 1400-pixel square required by many distributors and social platforms. The colors come from the site tokens, so the image stays consistent with the rest of EditMIDI.
When a generated cover is enough
Use it for a demo, a playlist thumbnail, a video still, or a quick release mockup. It is especially useful when you want the artwork to reflect the MIDI rather than a separate photo shoot. The title and metadata make the image self-explanatory.
It is not a replacement for a commissioned illustrator or a full design system. If the release needs custom typography, a logo, or a complex collage, use this as a starting point and finish the artwork in a design tool.
Privacy and image rights
The MIDI and any background image stay in this browser. The PNG is generated locally with the Canvas API; no image-generation service receives your file. That also means the result is deterministic and free of generated artifacts.
Use a background photo you have the right to use. EditMIDI does not grant rights to the image or the music. The cover is a derivative of both, so the same licensing rules apply when you publish it.
